I Think We May Still Need Practice!

I have been working with Zachary for a while to count to 5 on his fingers.

Today while we were watching TV I took the opportunity to work on the lesson a little more. I would hold up his fingers and we would count to 5. When we would get to five he kept getting side tracked by his thumb.

"Wook, Mommy my fum"

Then I thought it would be too cute to show him the "You Got It Dude" from Michelle Tanner in Full House. I could see it now, he would be so adorable walking around saying "You Got It Dude" every time he was told to do something.

Wrong.

I held up my thumb and showed him what to do, and do you even want to know what I got in return? (Well your still reading this so I suppose you do)

He held up his thumb and said:

"You got boobs"

Pepsi shot out my nose.

To him he was saying what he was told to say, and the more I laughed the more he said it! So I am hoping and praying like crazy that he will forget it and not Mortify Me In Public!

Thank you so much for that great laugh out loud moment! Out of the mouths of babes...

P.S. I read your little profile about Zachary and I swear they would probably be BFF's in real life! And that's no joke. Anything with wheels...literally. And if I don't see the outside of this house for at least 4 hours a day we are in trouble! Just thought I'd share that commenality we had. Glad to see you around my blog!

That is priceless! I just love the gems my grandkids come out with. When he was 5, one of them asked me (about his baby brother), "Who's idea was it to put that baby in mommy's tummy?" "I think it was your mommy's," I answered. "She wanted you to have someone to play with." He digested that for a while, then he asked, "Did you have any babies?" I answered, "Yes, I did. Your Daddy and your uncle Jason were my babies."
I could see the wheels turning, and him picturing his 5' 9" inch dad and his 6' uncle, as he looked my 5' 1" frame up and down. Then he broke into a big grin and said, "You're funny, Memere!" as though I had just told him the best joke ever!

just stopping by from SITS to say hi. hope you'll do the same.

Laughing is the number one encouragement for a toddler! But sometimes, it's so hard not to laugh. :)

HA! I love it. The other day I was getting dressed and my son came in the room as I was pulling my shirt over my head.

"There are your boobs," he said so casually, causing me to choke on my gum.

They grow up so fast.
