We Have So Much To Catch Up On!

I have been missing from the bloggy world for a while, and BOY do I have a lot to share. (Well that previous sentence is on the assumption that you find what I have to say interesting, which to be real, it usually not.) First things first my phone decided to go to the big cell phone tower in the sky on Tuesday. I can't say I'm surprised. I was on my 3rd one, the other two committed suicide shortly after my obtaining them. For some reason I seem to be the Grim Reaper for cell phones. If you don't like your phone bring it to me, I assure you it will self destruct in a few short months! So since I am eligible for an upgrade, I am going from the LG Voyager To the BlackBerry Curve. (In pink of coarse!) I hope that the new one will last, I have struggled with the switch from an actual phone to a "CrackBerry" for months, and decided to take the plunge. Here's to hoping.
Oh and a word to the wise, don't waste your time, or money on a touch screen. I have never had so much trouble with a phone in my life! It had to be replaced 3 times because of "hardware malfunctions". I've let out words I promised I would never use again over the phone situation.

On another note I was contacted a couple of weeks ago to do my first review! I have to admit that I'm pretty excited that my little 'ol bloggy fitted the criteria to do a review. (Apparently someone out there thinks what I have to say is in fact interesting) I was asked by Lisa Ness to read and write a review on a new book called "The BlackBerry Diaries: Adventures in Modern Motherhood" By Kathy Buckworth. I thought this would be perfect since I will soon be a BlackBerry-er.
Part of the agreement is that I have to tell you that I received the book for free, to do the review. So now that I have got that out of the way, I will let you know what I think as I read it. I'm really excited to get started.
And last but not least, I have asked you guys to pray for a lot of people, and parents on this blog. But tonight I am asking you to pray for me. You see, I was scheduled to work on Thursday but I didn't know it. And since I had no phone, I didn't know that they were calling wondering where I was, and therefore I was a no-call-no-show for yesterday.
I usually only work 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts. I had already worked those 3 days this week, AND I had requested every Thursday off so that I could go to church.
I had no reason to even think that I had to work. Plus, there is someone that works there (May the LORD help them if I ever figure out who it is) that told my boss that she herd me saying on Wednesday that I knew I had to work, but I wasn't coming because I had class. I didn't care they would just have to do without me.
I DID NOT SAY THIS!!!!! For starters, I don't have any classes at the moment, and why on earth would I just lay out of work?
I don't know why that lie even started, but it may very well cost me the job that I have had for the past 5 years. I will find out on Monday if I still have a job! So, please pray for me that I do. I can't lose my job lovelies, I have too much riding on my employment at Mission Hospitals.
I will let you know on Monday, just please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!

Its Whats For Dinner!

I have never been one that likes to embarrass myself (or even more than that be photographed)but this is too funny. I went out shopping with my sister and a few friends today and I was feeling a little silly. The following photo is what we call an oxymoron! (You know like Icy Hot). Its me in a Chef's hat! Now friends, I am no chef. I am a quick and easy kinda girl.

The crock-pot is my friend. I named her Bessy. So enjoy a laugh at my expense, and if any of you feel so inclined please give me some ideas for the hair-do! I want to do something nice but have no idea what I want!

Talk to you later!

Tic-Tac-Toe Nose

Last Summer I was going to Keith's Mother's new house for a cookout. I get Zachary ready and head out for the hour long trip to her house. (Seriously, why can't anything be CLOSE?). As we were heading down I-26 Zach starts to talk to me.

But he sounds funny.

Kinda nasal.

He has really bad allergies, so I take a quick look, and continue singing badly to the radio. A few minutes pass and he is still talking, then all of a sudden he sounds funny again.

Kinda (more) nasal.

I look back again, quickly decide that I am losing my mind, and turn back around.

Then he starts to cry.

Hard.

Like something is hurting him.

I pull over to the emergency lane and stop the car so I can take a good look at him. And there they are. Right there in both of my son's nostrils are two Tic-Tacs!

And lovelies, not just any type of Tic-Tac.

OH NO, when he does something he does it right. They are peppermint Tic-Tacs and they are burning his nose!

So, there I am on the side of the interstate with my flashers on, with Tweezers (yes, I did just happen to have Tweezers with me! You never know when a stray hair may appear my friends) preforming an emergency Tic-Tac extraction!

Oh, I think we learned an important lesson that day.

Always keep the Tweezers handy (just in case)!

I Think We May Still Need Practice!

I have been working with Zachary for a while to count to 5 on his fingers.

Today while we were watching TV I took the opportunity to work on the lesson a little more. I would hold up his fingers and we would count to 5. When we would get to five he kept getting side tracked by his thumb.

"Wook, Mommy my fum"

Then I thought it would be too cute to show him the "You Got It Dude" from Michelle Tanner in Full House. I could see it now, he would be so adorable walking around saying "You Got It Dude" every time he was told to do something.

Wrong.

I held up my thumb and showed him what to do, and do you even want to know what I got in return? (Well your still reading this so I suppose you do)

He held up his thumb and said:

"You got boobs"

Pepsi shot out my nose.

To him he was saying what he was told to say, and the more I laughed the more he said it! So I am hoping and praying like crazy that he will forget it and not Mortify Me In Public!

Life According to Urban Dictionary

My friend Jennifer put me up to this. :P This is something that was started on Facebook, but she converted to the bloggy world so we can all share our answers with each other. This is hoe you play:
Go to Urban Dictionary.com and type in your answers to each of these 10 questions into the search box. Then post the first definition it gives you, even if it doesn't match up!! This is TOO fun...
1) What is your name?
Jennie
short for Jennifer. Cute and shy but outgoing when you really know her. A best friend anyone can ever have. Trustworthy. Sometimes self-conscious but sometimes vain. All around good person.
2) Your Age?
26
A lot of booze. 750ml of alcohol. Pronounced "two-six" NOT twenty-six (oh my!)
3)Your Best Friend(s)?
Brandi-
An amazingly awesome girl. She is a wonderful listener and always there for her friends. Knows how to party and have fun! Usually stunning to the eyes,, and always doing people's hair for them. Loves all of her friends, and they always have her back. The guys are lucky if they get to catch her. A true Brandi will not be afraid to admit that she sleeps with a stuffed bear still, because all the cool kids know they still do it. She won't take any bull from anyone! Any Brandi is an awesome kisser:) Also very smart. Usually on the short side, and good at track. Likes taking pictures, and to read the "Twilight" series! A true Brandi will love to sing. Especially Taylor Swift songs.
Jennifer-
a fun, outgoing person. generally smart but can be a total blond at times. someone who likes meeting new people, and smiles a lot. a person who never would just turn on people. a very good friend. someone you can trust. when she's mad, stand clear she might blow her top. but a person who doesn't get mad easily so you don't have to worry about that
4) Your Profession
CNA
Certified nursing assistant, or someone who washes bedpans.
5)Favorite Color
Red
1) One of the three primary colours of paint. When mixed with yellow, it would make orange. When mixed with blue, it would make purple. It is opposite green on the colour wheel.
6) Favorite Vacation Spot?
The Beach
Where everyone would like to live forever
7)What Month Were You Born?
October
People born in October are fun loving and energetic, and care very much (sometimes too much) what other people think about them. They love having friends and are outgoing in certain scenarios, but not in others. They may have trouble finding who they really are but once they click, their personality explodes. October is the best month to be born in :]
8) Name of someone you love
Zachary
Zachary is a Hebrew name that means The Lord Remembers.
9)Where are you right now?
Home
A word that means something different to each person who uses it. A person's home can be the place where they live, the place they grew up, or the place where the people they care about live. In the case of some people, home is a variable concept, changing dependant on the placement of another person or object, or a person may even consider his or her own body the only 'true' home.
10) Your nickname?
Well Jennie is my nickname, we already know what that means but my sisters call me "Sister" so we will go with that.
your sister is the girl that will always be there for you and may save you one day, whether you know it or not. your sister may or may not be related to you and could just be an amazing friend, but either way your sister is always slow to judge and quick to forgive. she will always love you, she might just hide it from you.
So to keep this going here are a few people that I am tagging in hopes they will try it too!
3) Lisa

3:16

For God so loved the world
He gave his only begotten Son
That whosoever shall believe in Him
Shall not perish
But have everlasting life
John 3:16
I KNEW this verse by the time I was 3.
It took me until well into my adulthood to KNOW it.
Almost anyone around had herd this verse. Almost anyone you ask can recite it to you with an ease that is un-nerving, Heck, even WWE wrestlers use it.
Do you KNOW it?
Have you ever took the time to UNDERSTAND it?
Or...have you, like me, up until this point simply memorized the words, giving no thought to the meaning.
Read it again, aloud if you need to, and this time think about what it is saying...
26 words.
Beginning with God, and ending with life, encouraging us to do the same.
For God so loved the world...
Loved Who?
You? Me? What about Child Abusers, Prostitutes, Murders, Gamblers, Dead Beat Dads/Moms?
What World?
The one that wants his name taken out of our pledge, and off our dollar? The one that on one side of it people are being killed for following him, and the people on the other side don't care?
Gave What?
Prizes? Wealth? Power? No, He gave the ultimate sacrifice, His Son! To all the Mommy's out there could you do that? Could you do what Mary was forced to do? To set at her Son's nail pierced feet, beaten, broken, and bruised? Could you set there helpless and watch him die? Could you listen while they mocked your child? I don't know about you guys, but I'm not giving up Zachary for anyone!
For How Long?
A week? A month? A year?
Did you know that Anti-Aging products are a multi billion dollar industry? Humanity has searched for the "fountain of youth" for centuries. Well that "fountain" is not on this side of heaven my lovelies! Eternity, that is what we are promised if we believe those 26 words.
So, lets re-cap. But this time lets change some of the words.
For God so loved ME
That He gave His only begotten Son
That if I believe in him
I will not perish
But have everlasting life.
It doesn't say whosoever has: the biggest house, the most money, the best grades, the fastest car, all it says is that we have to BELIEVE!!!
Lovelies, I for one think that we got the better end of the deal on this one. He had to be nailed to a cross and die a terrible death this imperfect world with all its imperfect people. And us?
All we had to do was BELIEVE!

I've Been Tagged!!

I have been tagged by Micah to name six things I love and that makes me happy. So here goes. The first one is an obvious choice because he is the love of my life! Its my baby, I mean look at him, how could you not love this Papaw's-shoe-wearing-little boy?

I have made it no big secret that I am a coffee lover!! Actually if I don't have it, you better not be anywhere around me because I am likely to be dangerous!

As I have stated in a past post I have a love affair with very expensive purses. It is a sickness really, and I have ALOT of them. Here is the sad thing, do you want to know which one of them I carry? NONE!!!! I keep my babies safely put up in a safe place only to come out on the special occasion. But out of all the purses that I have these three are my favorites. Just don't tell the other ones I don't want any hurt feelings!

Flip Flops! They are my favorites! I love to just be able to stick my feet in a shoe and go. I also love Old Navy's because they are cheep and you can get one of every color!

I like to pretend that I am a very intelligent girl that has her head on straight. I like to write deep thoughts, and even talk about my God in the hope of touching the life of someone else. But I have to admit that I like the celebrity trash magazines. If you never want to read my blog again I will understand. I love People because they are the most reliable and the thing I love the most about People is they have the style issue. Because I like to know all of the up coming trends that I will never get my fat butt into!

OK Jennifer this one is just for you! I have loved Rainbow Bright since I was a little girl! It used to be my favorite show, so you can imagine my joy when I met Jennifer, and found out that she loves it too! (She even has the scrub top to prove it, cause she is awesome!)

So there you have it! Those are the simple things that make me happy! Here are the ones that I am tagging!
(I think she already done it, but go check her out anyways cause she is funny, and great!)
4. Jennifer of coarse!
5. Multiple Personalities
6. Deb
OK ladies go tell me what you love and what makes you happy!

On The Road Again...

When I wrote that title I had that Willie Nelson song in my head, but then I thought of my last post and decided that it was kinda ironic. Since this post has nothing to do with my Dad, or his "accident", but then I decided I was wasting precious nap time(mine) on a title to a blog that very few even read and just told my self to shut up and type.

I get kinda hateful with myself sometimes.

Especially when I am the one wasting my own nap time!

So anyways, this morning I had to pick my best friend up at the airport in Charlotte which is about 2.5-3 hrs away. She has come to visit from Philadelphia for 10 days and I agreed to go get her. This meant one things my lovelies, ROAD TRIP!!!!

When we were in High School we were in some stupid club that don't matter now because it was, well, stupid. This club involved a lot of road trips, and we always had the best time on them. In all the road trips that we have ever taken together there was always a constant: 1) Toms Bacon Cheddar Fries 2) Mt. Dew 3) A Milky Way Midnight because that my friends is 3 of the major 4 food groups right there (the other one Brandi declared today was Bacon).

So this morning around 8 I set off. I and listening to the radio, and singing, really getting into the songs on the radio and not paying much attention to anyone else until I see people driving by and laughing at me. So I decided that unless they wanted to pay me for the freeway performance then I better keep it on the down low.

I get about an hour away from the airport and decided to take a quick break. I went into the gas station and was going to use the bathroom. When I got into the bathroom I noticed that the toilet paper was not in a roll, it was in a dispenser that released 1 square at a time! Now you tell me who (besides Sheryl Crow) can wipe well with one square of toilet paper? So I decided to boycott the bathroom and leave. When I was walking out there was this 174 year old man giving me the "googly eyes".

Oh yes Papaw I think you are quite sexy too! You just look plain dapper with your golf shorts with knee high socks, and Jesus sandals! Your just too much for me to handle! Grawllll!

I hopped in the car and left!

I finally make it to the airport, and I was still 30 minutes before her flight landed. So I wait (which I really hate to do) and I melt. I think there must have been 5238 people in that one room! Maybe more, I didn't count the women and children. I finally get to her, and we walk to the car.

But where you go out is not where you come in. I have no earthly idea where my car is! We search for a sweet forever and finally find it. We decided to get something to eat and find a McDonald's right out of the airport. We walked in and OH SWEET JESUS IT WAS HOT!!! I mean friends, I don't think they have turned the AC on since 1993! It may mean something that we were the only people under 70 in the entire place, and maybe they prefer it warm. I don't know, but there was no way to eat in a place that hot. So we go next door to Wendy's. That'll show 'em.

So were finally back on the road again, and after some stimulating conversation about Tic-Tacs up the nose, pressure washing the bathroom with a Water Pic, and GO GIRLS we make it home.

Seriously I may have to let Brandi tell you the Water Pic story, I laughed for 50 miles! And I will share the Tic Tac story soon.

So that is the cliff notes version of our road trip, I have to take her back on the 18th so I'm sure I will have something to share then.

Have A Great Weekend!

He Answered

This past Thursday was a day that will not soon be forgotten. I had a pretty good day all day, and was looking forward to going to Thursday Night church when I got off work. For the first time ever Zach was awful in church. He wanted to cry, run around, fuss, walk in front of the preacher, it was the worst time I have had with him at church this far. I guess I should explain that my church has service on Thursday nights for those who can't make it on Sunday. Now, my church is new and is in the process of building a building so the Thursday night church is in a local coffee shop. There is not usually that many people there about 10-20. So when I say that Zach was doing all of this stuff now you can see that it was a big problem because there was not a lot of people, and we were in a small space.

Anywhoo, by the end of the service I felt so beaten. I felt the enemy was really working on me, he was trying to make me week. And at that moment in time he was succeeding. Do you ever have those days when you feel like God is really far away? Some days I can feel him so strong that I don't feel like anything could touch me. Other days (like Thursday) I can't feel him. I know he is there, I know he never leaves my side, but I couldn't feel him. I got home and just laid on my bed and prayed:

God, I know you are there, I know that you never leave me, but tonight I am burdoned and I just need you to make yourself known to me. Let me feel you again, just give me the peace that only comes in your presence.

After that my Mom calls to tell me that my Dad has been in an accident.
Meet my Daddy.

He was headed to the store to get something for supper. He has to go down this road to get there. My dog Chloe rides with him everywhere. They have done this daily for the past 5 years. Well Thursday when they were going to the store, for the first time ever she jumps out of the truck while he is driving. All he could think of was "I can't run over my dog" so he swerves right.
When he swerved right he fell off this. The picture does not do it justice, it is a long, steep fall.

Here it is from another angle, if you look real hard you can still see where the grass is laid down still from his tire marks.

He fell down this bank, going about 35-45mph.
THERE IS NOT A SCRATCH ON HIM!!!!
Something just to note here, his truck is fine too! Not that the truck even matters, but friends the truck should have been totaled, and he should be seriously injured/killed in this kind of accident.
Hello God, I feel you now!
Do I think that it is a coincidence that I asked God to show himself to me and not 10 minutes later I get this call?
I think we all know the answer to that.
My Dad, just drove the truck back to the road to pick up Chloe, (who by the was also uninjured and setting in the middle of the road waiting on him) and went home.
Just as a side note, if you noticed in the pictures the tobacco plants, they were also uninjured!
Tell me what you think of this.
