He Answered

This past Thursday was a day that will not soon be forgotten. I had a pretty good day all day, and was looking forward to going to Thursday Night church when I got off work. For the first time ever Zach was awful in church. He wanted to cry, run around, fuss, walk in front of the preacher, it was the worst time I have had with him at church this far. I guess I should explain that my church has service on Thursday nights for those who can't make it on Sunday. Now, my church is new and is in the process of building a building so the Thursday night church is in a local coffee shop. There is not usually that many people there about 10-20. So when I say that Zach was doing all of this stuff now you can see that it was a big problem because there was not a lot of people, and we were in a small space.

Anywhoo, by the end of the service I felt so beaten. I felt the enemy was really working on me, he was trying to make me week. And at that moment in time he was succeeding. Do you ever have those days when you feel like God is really far away? Some days I can feel him so strong that I don't feel like anything could touch me. Other days (like Thursday) I can't feel him. I know he is there, I know he never leaves my side, but I couldn't feel him. I got home and just laid on my bed and prayed:

God, I know you are there, I know that you never leave me, but tonight I am burdoned and I just need you to make yourself known to me. Let me feel you again, just give me the peace that only comes in your presence.

After that my Mom calls to tell me that my Dad has been in an accident.
Meet my Daddy.

He was headed to the store to get something for supper. He has to go down this road to get there. My dog Chloe rides with him everywhere. They have done this daily for the past 5 years. Well Thursday when they were going to the store, for the first time ever she jumps out of the truck while he is driving. All he could think of was "I can't run over my dog" so he swerves right.
When he swerved right he fell off this. The picture does not do it justice, it is a long, steep fall.

Here it is from another angle, if you look real hard you can still see where the grass is laid down still from his tire marks.

He fell down this bank, going about 35-45mph.
THERE IS NOT A SCRATCH ON HIM!!!!
Something just to note here, his truck is fine too! Not that the truck even matters, but friends the truck should have been totaled, and he should be seriously injured/killed in this kind of accident.
Hello God, I feel you now!
Do I think that it is a coincidence that I asked God to show himself to me and not 10 minutes later I get this call?
I think we all know the answer to that.
My Dad, just drove the truck back to the road to pick up Chloe, (who by the was also uninjured and setting in the middle of the road waiting on him) and went home.
Just as a side note, if you noticed in the pictures the tobacco plants, they were also uninjured!
Tell me what you think of this.

At the risk of sounding cheesy, reading that gave me chills! I'm so glad that dad, truck, and Chloe are all ok. I have many moments like this, where God will make his presence known in a profound way, just when I think he's forgotten me. Have a blessed weekend! Thanks for sharing you story!

Yeah, we've had many moments where God has totally, not just come through for us, but been the only reason we've come through the situation. It's wonderful to hear that He is doing so for others around the world.
