Too Far!

**Warning- This post contains foul language that I (almost) never use. If that offends you, I encourage you to keep reading. Coincidentally, the fact that you may find this offensive, is well, the actual point of this post**

Today I spent the day out with Zach, and my Mom. We decided to go to the mall and get Zach some new shoes. (Which is an entire post by itself, because if you have ever tried to talk an OCD baby into changing his shoes....whew its traumatic...)

We looked around for a while, and decided to take a break from the meltdown that is trying to get Zach to part with his shoes. Zach likes to look at the "monsters" (Halloween costumes) so we walked into a popular store that is known for its Halloween decor.

I haven't really decided if I am going to share the name of this store yet. I feel like I should, but I don't know the rules on this. After you read this, let me know if you think I should share.

Any-who, we were walking around looking at the various Halloween items and I come across something that I have been mad about all day! Take a look at the pictures below and let me know what you think. First off we have a bib. While crude, believe it or not, its not the worst.

I'm sure all Daddy's would love for their little ones to wear this one!

This one really got me, but again not the worst one!

And here we have our winner! This is the most offensive, crude, disgusting child's shirt I have ever came across!
You want to know the real kicker on these shirts?
They are all sized 0-3months!
Would you really put these articles of clothing on your newborn baby?
I think NOT!!!
Whatever happened to the time when our kids could be-oh I don't know-KIDS?
Please let me know what you think on these. Also let me know if you think I sould share the name of the store!

Holding My Hand

Photobucket
I am the LORD your God.

I am holding your hand, so don't be afraid.

I am here to help you.

Isaiah 41:13 (CEV)

How many of us Mothers have been holding our Toddler's hand, and felt that tiny little tug meaning they want you to let go? They are independent little things, and want to explore what the world has to offer without any help. What is your first instinct?

To hold them tighter.

Even though they think they can do it on their own, we know better. Whether they know it or not, we know what is best for them. We know that if we let go, they may fall down, or get away from us. So we hold them in our protective grip, showing them the way.

How many of us have tried to let go of God's hand and tried to do things on our own?

He just holds us tighter.

At times he may let us try to do things our way. Just like a Toddler that is usually when we fall down, and just like a loving Mother, he is always there to pick us up, dust us off, take our hands and show us the way.

He is always there, no matter what you are going through. Keeping us is his firm, protective grasp, loving us more than we can even begin to understand.

He will never let you go.

Let Him Eat Cake!

Last night Zachary and I made some cupcakes together. While I was expecting disaster, and the use of a pressure washer as consequences for my actions, I was presently surprised at the outcome.

Here is a short video of Zachary helping me make the batter.

***You will have to overlook the sound of my voice on here. I have had the croup for the past few days (that's right my baby knows how to share!) and I noticed only after making the video that I sound like Donald Duck, with a heavy southern draw***

He attempted to help me pour the batter into the pan, considering he is only two I would call that a job well done. Out of 12 cupcakes I was prepared for 12 of them to overflow the paper. Imagine my surprise when they came out looking like this! I only had one unruly cupcake! Thanks to my high photography skills you can see that I forgot to wipe up the spilled batter before I stuck the pan in the oven! Oh well did I mention that I only had one unruly cupcake?

Then it was time for the icing!! This was his favorite part. I only let him do one and thank goodness...

...because this was the one that I let him put the icing on! I think he got a little excited with the knife!

Time to add the sprinkles! Again thanks to my professional photography you will have to ignore Keith's foot in the side there!

His sprinkled plate! Not to bad for our first batch of cupcakes together.

The finished product. So their not perfect, and a little messy, but we had fun doing it together and that's all that matters.
Well, that and the fact that they are YUMMY!

Oh Man! Oh Man!

I have been reading The Blackberry Diaries:Adventures In Modern Motherhood By Kathy Buckworth over the past few days.
I have not gotten to read it as much as I wanted to the last couple of days because Zachary has been sick with the croup, and I have been tied up. But what I have read of the book I can summarize in 3 words: HILARIOUS!
From what I can tell the book is actually blog post that she has written in the past. There is one post/chapter in there that I wanted to share some of with you guys to give you a feel of the book.
In this chapter she talks about how the men in a relationship have it so much easier than the women in the relationship. This is the list she gives in the book.

Why It Is Really Better To Be A Man Than A Woman (By Kathy Buckworth)

  1. No one expects men to wear thong underware.
  2. Men only have to shave their faces (or their backs)
  3. No PMS, monthly periods, hot flashes, leaking breast, PAP smears, etc. Maybe a little bit of Joke Itch. Please. Amateur Stuff.
  4. Men literally have nothing on their mind but a naked lady. How freeing is that?
  5. Men don't care if they find a single Tupperware lid at the house.
  6. Gray Hair. When women get one they look 10 years older, when men get them they look more sophisticated.
  7. When men are loosing their hair they can just shave their heads. Unless auditioning for the Coneheads this is not much of an option for women.
  8. Men can use the phrase "I'm sorry I just wasn't thinking" and people believe them because its true.
  9. Bikini Waxing. Enough said.
  10. Men don't really care if the sheets get changed.

So that was just a few from the list. Really the book is too funny, and sadly pretty true. I was thinking of doing a giveaway with the book, I just don't know how I want to go about it just yet. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm open.

Talk to y'all later!
